Content Lead

Coming from a journalistic background, Connor started with Market Financial Solutions as a Content Marketing Executive in 2022 and was eventually being promoted to our Content Lead at the start of 2025. Connor oversees all of the written content we produce.

Nearly all of the resources on our website were written or edited by Connor. This includes our range of comprehensive guides which cover everything from bridging loans and buy-to-let mortgages to OpCo/PropCo structures as well as educational CPD courses about the property finance and real estate markets.

He also produces our independent research reports which recently have explored how would-be landlords are looking to enter the buy-to-let market, a review of the importance of the UK high street in a post-pandemic economy, and the prevalence of gazumping in the housing market.

What’s more, Connor writes our blogs which cover everything from the Renters’ Rights Bill and tax planning, through to permitted development rights and share purchase agreements.

Connor's background and expertise

Prior to joining Market Financial Solutions, Connor began his career in the world of wealth planning and investment management. It was here where he built his experience and knowledge of investment strategy, diversification, and economic theory.

After a few years in this field, he sought to try and combine his knowledge with his passion – writing. He moved into a research analyst role at a company called Southbank Investment Research, an independent financial research firm. It was here where Connor had his first pieces published, as he oversaw several investment newsletters that covered the energy markets, technology shares, and even cryptocurrency.

Connor then moved into the world of journalism, becoming a personal finance reporter for the Express. On a daily basis, he was required to produce several news articles on a broad range of financial topics. This included pensions, mortgages, and taxes. He followed this up with a brief stint as a money reporter for The i Paper where on top of the aforementioned topics, he also covered utilities, consumer pieces, and motoring.

Coincidentally, it was at these firms where Market Financial Solutions first appeared on Connor’s radar, as he quoted Paresh Raja in a number of property-related articles!

As he joined Market Financial Solutions, he took charge of the firm’s content output. Also, externally, he writes several 3^rd party articles for trade magazines, and the national press. His work and commentary has appeared in Financial Reporter, Business Moneyfacts, Bridging & Commercial, Asian Voice, and several other publications.

His copy is often utilised where we have a presence at industry events, and where we put our staff forward for awards, it’s Connor who writes the submissions. Of course, Connor wouldn’t be able to do this without working closely with the wider Market Financial Solutions’ team. He embraces teamwork with his marketing colleagues, alongside our BDMs, and underwriters.
